Clearance Picture
Ditch clearance underway near the head of the ditch that was full of mulch. The cinder path, formerly used by security guards patrolling the RNCF site boundaries, was buried under a layer of mulch. (22 October 2023)
Clearance Picture

Clearance Picture
Clearing young nettles and brambles from the final woodland section to help dog walkers. Many wood ants and their nests are active in this section RNCF maps note that ants can bite and shoot formic acid! (24 March 2024)

Artefacts

Artefacts Picture
Turning left at the two redundant grey gate posts leads you to the site of the Admiralty line’s exit gates from the factory. The remaining two stumps of the posts can be seen in the ex-fence line. (November 2023)
Artefacts Picture
In front of the two Admiralty line gate posts will be seen a hook on a post. This was used to secure one of railway gates while the train passed through. Remains of the other hook are opposite. (November 2023)
Artefacts Picture
Leading away from the exit gates are a row of concrete sleepers, left intact during demolition, indicated by the rope attached to the rail fixings. Trains of cordite ran over these sleepers to the jetty. (November 2023)
